A number of hostile creatures in the area of effect (one per caster level, to a maximum of 30, +1 per 4 legendary caster levels) are hit by lightning balls, each doing 1d6 electrical damage per caster level, to a maximum of 30d6, +1d6 per 4 legendary caster levels. If there are more creatures than lightning balls, only the closest targets will be damaged. When cast by a Dragonstorm Mage this spell changes. The balls are no longer limited to one per target, instead hitting each target up to one strike per ten caster levels (max of 6 balls at CL 60). It does CLd6 Electrical damage for the first strike on a target, decreasing by 3/4 for each subsequent strike. At CL60 the second strike does 45d6, the third 33d6, etc. In addition the Dragonstorm Mage version also drops the targets Electrical resistance by 2/- per 10 CL.
